Hi there,
My name is Tes Silverman and I am a Filipina American. I saw the video about Books for Barrios and would be very interested to see about interviewing Dan and Nancy Herrington for my blog, The Pinay Perspective for a future post.
My blog is for Filpinas and Filipina Americans that provide another avenue to make their concerns of family life known. I have reached out to Filipinas who live in Australia, Singapore and of course, the Philippines to keep me in the loop so I can then write about their concerns and bridge the gepgraphical gap by discussing about them. As a New Yorker, I would like to expose any concerns about the Filpino people to those who may not know much of what goes on in the Philippines, let alone the Barrios.
With the release of the film Waiting for Superman, it is a great way to let Americans know that there are other countries who are still in so much need of help when it comes to education.
I am a mother of an eleven year daughter and books have always been a huge part of our family, and when I saw the video, I had to write to see if there was any way for the Herringtons to discuss their project with me and use the youtube video to further their cause.
I would appreciate any reply to this email and if you would like to check out my blog, it is:

Thank you for your time and looking forward to hearing from you.

I am from Canada and I have always wanted to do this project for the barrios in the Philippines. I am now a retired school teacher and I have all the time to do this kind of project here in Canada. Is there an organization like yours in Canada? Please advise. I have a retired teacher friend who might want to do this with me.
Thanks,
